Wild Huckleberry & Rose Petal Simple Syrup

Enjoy the delicate flavor and beautiful color of this homemade wild huckleberry and rose petal simple syrup, like we did in our Rose & Sparkle Champagne Cocktail.

Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup dried rose petals (preferably culinary-grade)
- 1/4 cup fresh or frozen wild huckleberries

Instructions

1. Cook Water and Sugar: In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved.

2. Add Huckleberries and Rose Petals: Once the sugar has dissolved, add the berries and dried rose petals to the saucepan. Stir gently to combine.

3. Simmer: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the flavors and colors of the berries and petals to infuse into the syrup.

4. Strain: After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat. Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the syrup into a clean jar or bottle, discarding the rose petals.

5. Cool and Store: Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, seal the jar or bottle and store it in the refrigerator.

6. Use: Your simple syrup is now ready to use! It can be added to cocktails, teas, desserts, or drizzled over pancakes and waffles for a floral touch.

Storage: The syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks.
